Doris Wright Leevy Johnson was the wife of I. S. Leevy Johnson and the mother of George Craig and Chris Leevy Johnson. She was a public school teacher in Richland County and retired as the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Benedict College. At the time of her passing in 2023, she was serving as the Director Marketing and Community Engagement at the funeral home.
Leevy’s Funeral Home had the honor of curating a celebration of life for Reverend Clementa Pinckney. His life was celebrated by friends, family and the former President of the United States, Barack Obama with his family by his side. Bringing a moment of unity, love, and support for families, during a moment of loss and sadness, is why Leevy’s Funeral Home continues to serve Columbia, Midlands and the entire state of South Carolina.
